In the fourth quarter (Q4) 2024, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 5.6 per cent year-on-year, after decreasing by 5.6 per cent in Q3 2024. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales recorded an increase by 6.8 per cent following a decrease of 6.6 per cent (revised from negative 6.3 per cent) in Q3 2024.
The total value of retail sales in Q4 2024 was estimated at BND419.5 million. Almost one-third (26.2 per cent) was contributed by Department Stores with sales worth BND110.0 million, followed by Supermarkets (BND72.6 million or 17.3 per cent).
In terms of volume, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 5.4 per cent year-on-year in Q4 2024, after decreasing by 5.0 per cent (revised from negative 5.1 per cent) in Q3 2024. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales recorded a positive growth of 6.9 per cent after decreasing by 6.6 per cent (revised from negative 6.3 per cent) in Q3 2024.
