In the second quarter (Q2) 2025, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 6.2 per cent year-on-year, after decreasing by 2.0 per cent in Q1 2025. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales also recorded a decrease by 9.9 per cent following an increase of 4.4 per cent in Q1 2025.
The total value of retail sales in Q2 2025 was estimated at BND394.7 million. Almost one-third (26.3 per cent) was contributed by Department Stores with sales worth BND103.7 million, followed by Supermarkets (BND70.3 million or 17.8 per cent).
In terms of volume, retail sales recorded a negative growth of 6.3 per cent year-on-year in Q2 2025, after decreasing by 2.6 per cent in Q1 2025. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, retail sales also recorded a negative growth of 11.4 per cent after increasing by 6.0 per cent in Q1 2025.
