Brunei Darussalam's economy began the first quarter of 2022 (Q1 2022) with a negative growth of 4.2 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y). The downturn was mainly due to the Oil and Gas Sector, which contracted sharply by 9.0 per cent, offsetting the positive growth of 1.0 per cent recorded in the Non-Oil and Gas Sector.
