Mission​​

To produce timely and reliable national statistics, provide evidence-based economic reporting for policy formulation and performance evaluations; to safeguard consumers rights to ensure a fair and transparent marketplace.

ROLES & FUNCTIONS

Towards realising the mission, DEPS delivers its mandate through the coordinated roles of its departments as follows:

1. Department of Planning (DOP) monitors Brunei Darussalam’s economic performance and produces the Economic Review to track the nation’s progress towards a dynamic and sustainable economy.

2. Department of Statistics (DOS) produces and disseminates timely and reliable national statistics to support evidence-based decision-making and policy formulation through surveys, census and administrative data.

3. Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) administers and enforces consumer protection and price control laws to uphold consumer rights and ensure a fair and transparent marketplace for both businesses and consumers.
