Price Monitoring

In an effort to enhance price transparency, the Department of Consumer Affairs has started to monitor prices of selected essential goods since December 2020. The list of goods being monitored is subject to review, depending on the circumstances and policy directives.

Price information promotes transparency and allows consumers to compare prices and find out the choices of goods available in the market, thereby helping them make informed purchase decisions. Additionally, the price trend data on these essential goods serves as policy input in devising relevant measures to mitigate price or supply concerns, if any. 2025
