Monitored Key Food Items

The aim of price monitoring of selected key food items is to promote transparency in prices and the availability of choices in the marketplace, enabling consumers to make price comparisons. Over 90 business premises in all four districts are covered under price monitoring.

Seven categories of food items are currently monitored. The list of monitored key food items is subject to review depending on circumstances and policy directives. The list of monitored key food items:

    1. Whole chicken
    2. Eggs (grade B)
    3. Shallots
    4. Garlic
    5. Ginger
    6. Chilli
    7. Beef (isi daging)
