In line with its mission “To Provide Quality, Comprehensive, Timely and Accessible National Statistics, consistent with International Standards and Best Practices for Effective Planning and Informed Decision-Making”, the Department of Statistics, JPES is also responsible for the following:
  • To develop national standards for statistical concepts, classifications, and methodologies, and to ensure observance of these standards by all government agencies; and
  • To regularly review and update national statistical standards in line with the latest international standards and guidelines.
