29 Sept 2025 – Two Warning Notices issued for violations of the Price Control Act, Chapter 142
To ensure business compliance with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142, and the Weights and Measures Act, Chapter 151, the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) through the Department of Consumer Affairs, together with the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy, recently conducted a joint operation at several business premises in the Belait District.

​Market stall operators are reminded to uphold price transparency and conduct ethical business practices by complying with the Price Control (Display of Prices) Order and the Weights and Measures Act, Chapter 151. This was underscored during a recent joint inspection at Pasar Tani Selayun by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) through the Department of Consumer Affairs, together with the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division under the Ministry of Finance and Economy
1 September 2025 – Price Control Act, Chapter 142 Enforcement Records 5 Compounds in Q2 2025
Daily routine inspections by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy recorded thirteen (13) offences under the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and its Regulations in the Second Quarter of 2025 (Q2 2025). This enforcement is part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142.
